Once found only in health food stores, a seemingly endless variety of organic foods are now a regular feature in most supermarkets. And that’s created a bit of a dilemma. Take the produce aisle for example. In one section you have an array of conventionally grown apples. In another, you have the organic variety. Both apples are firm, shiny and red. Both provide vitamins and fiber — and both are free of fat, sodium and cholesterol. So which do you choose? -1
A magazine cartoon appeared recently in which several co-workers are gathered around a woman in an office to wish her a happy birthday. With arms outstretched, one of the well-wishers is pictured presenting the woman with an empty tray. The caption reads: “We couldn’t find an organic, raw-vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, non-G.M.O. cake for your birthday — so we got you nothing.” -2
