Those of us who are looking forward to Christmas with joyful anticipation need to realize that for many people it is a season of horror. It is a season when their loneliness presses in on them. For people who don’t know how to love or to be loved, it is a horrible season because there is so much talk about love and so many symbols of it. Now wonder the suicide rate rises during the holiday season!
I suspect that each of us who looks forward to joyful, warm, family times, knows someone for whom this is a season of horror and each of us could find some tangible way to let that person know of our love. Especially when we realize that this could literally be a life-saving experience for that person.
