“I will make you a great name, like the names of the great men who are on the earth” (2 Samuel 7:9).
A tourist was passing through a picturesque village when he came upon an old resident sitting beside a tree. “Were any great men born in this village?” the tourist asked. “No,” the old man replied, “only babies.”
In and through the Lord Jesus Christ, God offers each one of us — man or woman — the opportunity to achieve greatness. And nothing could be greater than to be the person God wants us to be. But like the baby who wants to learn how to walk, we’ve got to take the first step.
