“The bearer of gossip lets out secrets; have nothing to do with chatterers” (Proverbs 20:19).
When a Jack and Jill or Bill and Margie fall in love, sooner or later some gossipers are bound to say, “I don’t know what she sees in him,” or “I don’t know what he sees in her.” And, whatever else words are intended to mean, they are among the truest words ever spoken. They don’t know! But Jack knows what he sees in Jill. And Margie knows what she sees in Bill. Margie looks at Bill and knows that there is no one else like him in the whole wide world. Jack looks at Jill and knows that she is the fulfillment of all his dreams of loveliness. Who is right — the gossipers or the young lovers?
