“God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him…” (Genesis 1:27).
Anthony Campolo, the popular author of many inspirational and spiritual books, sums up the reason for our self-esteem in these words:
I don’t know what they are doing in heaven, but I think God must be acting like a proud grandmother. He’s probably got a wallet with your picture in it and whenever He is talking with the archangels He probably weaves talk about you into the conversation. I can imagine Him whipping out His wallet, showing the angels your picture, and saying, “Isn’t My child beautiful? Isn’t My child wonderful?”
