BAPTIZED & ADVERTISED
As a pastor of a Baptist church with a unique baptismal design, I have opportunity to field lots of questions from visitors. The baptismal tank was free-standing on the side of the platform, and when opened, had a surrounding framework complete with curtains and backdrop. One Sunday, it caught the attention of a small boy. Following the baptism service, this boy came up to the front, and while looking intently at the tank and remembering what had just happened, said to me, “Pastor, what does a guy have to do to get in there and be advertised? What a beautiful description of baptism. We are being advertised to the world!
