LONG LINE OF REVENGE
From the April, 1990 issue of Wendoll’s Newsletter comes the following conversation. Before the Romanian revolution, Ceausescu telephones the most honest man in Romania: “Do people really hate me?” The man says they do. “Do they want to see me dead?” The man says they do. “Will they spit on my grave when I am dead?” The man says they will. “And do you hate me?” The man says he does. “And do you want to see me dead?” The man says he does. “And will you spit on my grave when I am dead?” The man says he won’t. Ceausescu asks the honest man why he will not spit on his grave when he dies. The man answers, “I can’t stand the thought of standing in line for three hours.”
