WHEN OUR LEADER DIES
Two men in a totalitarian country were talking. One of the men told how he had recovered from a serious illness. “Thank God, I’m fully recovered now!” he said. His friend corrected him: “Don’t say ‘Thank God’; say ‘Thank our exalted leader.'” The man asked, “But what if our exalted leader dies?” The friend replied, “Then you say ‘Thank God!'” From Bruce Rowlison, Gilroy, California
