THE GRACE RACE
The frustrating thing about a life of grace
Is recognizing other runners in the race,
But Jesus didn’t prescribe a particular standard
Except the rule of love
Which, by the way, is quite demanding
When push comes to shove.
But wouldn’t it have been easier to have a sign…
Something external would suit me just fine.
Maybe something simple to distinguish the ones
Who follow the Lord.
Then there wouldn’t be so many questions
About whom we should reward.
Please be patient while I tell you what I think
What if all Christians had to wear…pink?
That’s it, pink, let’s make it a rule.
Whoa, not so fast there, you, yes you,
I know you’re wearing a pink jogging suit,
But I didn’t mean hot pink, you fool. By Lew Button, Bedford, Pennsylvania
