ROYALTY INSTEAD OF REJECTION
Long years of exile far from home,
Forgotten in his deep despair,
Mephibosheth awaited death,
No hope of ever leaving there.
Alone, forsaken, in Lodebar,
His farm was dry, scant food to eat,
Lame feet kept him within his house,
Few friends came by for him to greet.
A knock came at his door one day,
So seldom that he heard that sound,
A message from the king was sent,
“We’ve searched for you, and now you’re found!”
Up, get ready, a trip you’ll make,
To Jerusalem the king to see,
His plans for you are mighty fine,
His palace is your home to be.
Mephibosheth arrived in haste,
His heart a flutter with great fear,
King David welcomed him with words,
That caused his fright to disappear.
From henceforth on the lame man would,
Live and dine and…
