What is the most popular last meal on death row? According to Texas Department of Criminal Justice, burgers are the top entree of choice. Of the 144 men executed in Texas in the past 15 years, 22 chose double cheeseburgers, 15 opted for single cheeseburgers, and nine chose hamburgers. Next most popular were steaks (27 requests). Ice cream was the most popular dessert (21) and Coca-Cola the most popular beverage (13). Most desired overall: a side of French fries (56 requests). From the New York Times
