INTERTWINING OUR ROOTS
We are like the Sequoia trees of California that tower as much as 300 feet above the ground. Strangely, these giant trees have unusually shallow root systems that reach out in all directions to capture the greatest amount of surface moisture. Seldom will you see a redwood tree standing alone because high winds would quickly uproot it. That is why they grow in clusters. Their intertwining roots provide support for one another against the storms. So also are we in need of each other. We must not choose to stand alone. This is the message of Hebrews 10:25, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” From the Roever Evangelistic Association newsletter
