BOZO BOSSES
The originator of “Dilbert” comic strip, Scott Adams, shares a few of the stories that his readers sent in to him about their own bosses: An impatient and frustrated boss was sitting in front of his computer. One of his employees walked over to ask him what the problem was. The boss blurted, “It’s about time someone came over, I pressed the ‘help key’ a half an hour ago.” A boss called his employees from Switzerland and told them to log off the internet, to keep from slowing it down, while he made a presentation that used the internet. After writing his own job description, this employee found the same job description under the “help wanted” classified ads in the newspaper. When a valued employee told the boss that he was thinking about quitting, the boss wondered aloud, “Perhaps this will solve the budget problem…” Adapted from Diane Eicher, writing about Scott Adams and his “Dilbert” comic strip
