BOTH PIECES OF PIE
A boy brought a friend over for supper. His friend seemed to enjoy the food all right, even though his mother was not the best cook around. Then it came time for dessert. The mother asked her son’s friend, “Would you like some of my famous apple pie?” The boy told her that he would. When the boy had finished the pie, he thanked his friend’s mother. The mother was so pleased with the boy’s manners. “Did you like my pie?” “Ma’am, I just want to thank you for both pieces.” “But you only ate one piece of my pie.” The boy explained, “Not exactly, that piece of your pie was my first and my last.”
