CORNFIELD MISSIONARIES I
‘ll never forget an incident that happened when I was about ten years old. We had two or three men in the church who, in every public prayer I ever heard them pray, would ask God: “Bless the missionaries in the foreign fields.” Well, one day in our fifth-grade Sunday school class, the teacher asked Stanley to pray. And Stanley prayed like he thought he’d heard the men pray–except Stanley said, “God, bless all them missionaries in the corn fields.” Stanley probably wouldn’t have misunderstood if we’d been praying for specific missionaries in specific places. We need to be praying for definite people and specific needs. From Gene Barron, Littleton, Colorado
