OPPORTUNITY FOR FAMILY NEWS
In an episode of the comic strip Dennis the Menace, Dennis comes into the house yelling “Hey, Dad… It’s raining!” His father is sitting in the living room reading the newspaper and watching the news on television. Without looking up, he says, “So I noticed.” Dennis continues: “Guess what, Dad? Margaret’s goin’ to summer camp, and Mr. Wilson says he’s gonna move!” He climbs up onto his father’s lap: “And Mom made a pie for dessert tonight.” Dennis pauses for a moment and remarks, “Aw, Dad, you’re not even listening!” His father says, “Not now, Dennis, I’m catching up on the news!” Dennis looks perplexed and says: “But that’s what I was telling you!”
