PEOPLE OF GOD
While at a minister’s meeting our subcommittee was meeting in one of this growing church’s Sunday School rooms. As we were discussing problems facing the church and the ministry, I looked over at some of the materials on the walls of the Sunday School room. There was an old fire extinguisher sign but no fire extinguisher. However, the poster underneath it, combined with the plaque for the fire extinguisher, spoke to our group. Together they said: “In Case of Emergency: We Are the People of God.” That’s always good advice no matter what comes our way. If we remember who we are and to whom we belong.
