THE GOSPEL GIFT
In all likelihood your Christmas list contains the names of your loved ones, your relatives, friends and neighbors–for you dread the tragic experience of forgetting someone to whom a gift would be given, or a greeting sent. But what about the Lord – is His name first on the list? If He is not first, the probability is that His Name is not on the list at all! If it comes as a surprise that the Lord’s name should be placed on your gift list, we should like to remind you that there is both example and precept in the Book for such procedure. If you have received God’s gifts – His Son, His Spirit, Eternal Life, Divine Righteousness and “all things” (Rom. 8:32), it is your privilege and responsibility to “give unto the Lord.” There is a threefold gift every child of God may give to Him: (1) Ourselves; (2) Our praise, and (3) Our substance.
