HOW TO LOVE EVERYBODY
Mike Burger, a newspaper columnist, wrote about a little boy who had a piece of chalk and who drew a valentine heart on the wall of the New York City library. Inside the chalked heart, he scrawled a delightful message: “Billy Meyer loves everybody.” You would almost have to become a little child again to achieve that kind of love. You would almost have to be born all over again to be able to love everybody. Most of us will be like those popular bumper stickers, “God loves you and I’m trying.” But it is critically important that we keep trying, for that is what sets Christians apart from the world- -not our rituals or even or righteousness–but our ability to love even those who despise us and abuse us–just as Jesus was able to love those who despised and abused him. His disciples are to live a life of love for all people.
