REBELLIOUS INNKEEPER
A young boy was embittered that another boy was granted the role of Joseph for the annual Christmas program. Instead of receiving the role of Joseph, the young boy was given the part of the innkeeper. The boy decided to get revenge for not getting the part of Joseph. So, during the actual performance, Joseph came to the door of the inn and asked for a room. Rather than turning Joseph and Mary away, the little boy said, “We have lots of room! Come on in!” But the boy who had bested him for the part of Joseph proved himself the superior actor when he rose to the challenge and preserved the true script of the nativity. He walked past the innkeeper, pretended to look into the inn, and exclaimed, “This place is a mess! I can’t let my wife stay in a mess like this.
