name the Bible as the most influential book in human history. 58% believe the Bible is totally accurate in all it teaches. 38% read the Bible during a typical week, not including when they are at church. 91% of all households own at least one Bible. The typical household owns three Bibles. 22% say they have read the entire Bible. 45% say they know the basic teachings and beliefs of Christianity “very well.” 42% know that it was Jesus who preached the Sermon on the Mount. 67% of adult Americans say there is no such thing as absolute truth. 80% say the Bible specifically says that “God helps those who help themselves.” 12% say that the name of Noah’s wife was Joan of Arc.
