THE PARABLE OF THE CHURCH BELL
For generation after generation the community church had made an impact on the people of the small village. The people depended on the church for much of their social and spiritual life. The church maintained the truths and values of God’s word for many, many years. One wealthy man–who appreciated what the church had meant to him–donated a beautiful bell to the church. The bell was installed years ago–as long as anyone could remember. The bell had become a vital part of the village. People had grown up with the bell and depended on the bell. It had become the standard for the village. You see, every hour, on the hour, the bell would ring the number of that particular hour.
