NO MORE FLAMES ON THE SIDE
During a wedding rehearsal, the bride and groom were practicing the lighting of the unity candle. The minister read from his text that the two candles represent two lives. The one large candle in between the two represents their new life together. From their two lives comes one life together. This explanation obviously took the groom by surprise. The minister stopped and asked the groom if everything was all right. The groom paused and told the minister that he had never known that the candles meant that. The minister was curious and asked the man, “What did you think the candles meant?” The groom innocently answered, “I thought it meant that we can’t have any more flames on the side.”
