THREE TEMPTATION RESPONSIBILITIES
In the face of any and all temptation, the believer has three general responsibilities: First he is to rejoice in the midst of testing . . . This is not the attitude of a cynic or stoic but of a triumphant Christian who meets temptation not with passive resignation but with positive joy . . . We can rejoice because we know that a testing, successfully passed, will produce faith and patient endurance in the life, and sometimes this can only be done through tribulations. Second, Christians have the responsibility to endure temptation . . . To endure means to bear the test with patience and constancy and without murmuring, fainting or blaspheming . . . the believer who shows endurance will not question that God is working out His purpose in the test to produce growth and develop graces in his life.
