VICTORY THROUGH FORGIVENESS
When I am offended, I am prone to relive the offense and my hurt over and over. It seems to comfort me to do this, but in actuality, it needlessly perpetuates my suffering. Would it not be better for me to forgive the offense and protect myself from further reliving of the hurt and pain. But is this forgiveness a just response for the one who offended me? Would it not be better to let the one who offended me remain in unforgiveness? The problem with this line of thinking is that the one who offended me may not be suffering at all and God’s convicting power is not upon this offender. Perhaps my lack of forgiveness is part of the reason that God has never brought about this conviction. By taking the upper hand with an attitude of forgiveness, we allow God to release us from the additional pain of bitterness AND subject the offending party to God’s fiery coals…
