Pappy sees his teenage son leaving the house with a lantern and asks him, “Whar’ ya goin’ boy?” He turned and replied, “I’m a-goin’ courting on Betty-Jo.” Pappy offered a bit of fatherly advice: “When I went a-courtin’ for yer’ Ma, I didn’t need me no lantern.” “Sure Pappy, I know ya didn’t take no lantern.” the boy responded. “But look what ya got!”
