CHRISTMAS DISTRACTIONS
During WW II the US Office of Strategic Services (OSS) devised a simple test wherein the candidate was told to build a simple frame structure out of notched sticks and to use two helpers to had been told to obey his orders. The two helpers, “Buster” and “Kippy” had been privately told to obstruct the work in every manner they could without directly disobeying a command. They had an outrageous bags of tricks to try the patience of the commander. They won every time…some lost their temper, some sat down on the job, others tried to fire the helpers. Sometimes the season seems to try the same tricks on us to help us lose our patience. The merchandising, the church activities, the celebrating and all the rest.
