TOO MANY WOMEN
A man on trial in Tennessee had previously pleaded “not guilty.” A jury was chosen that consisted of nine women and three men. When the man learned that there were nine women on the jury, he changed his plea. The judge needed to know the reason for the change in his plea before he could allow the new plea. The man stood before the judge and explained, “When I entered the plea of “not guilty,” I did not know there would be nine women on the jury. I’ve been married long enough to know that I can’t fool one woman. If I can’t fool one woman, why should I think I can fool nine of them.”
