NO CONDEMNATION
I take flight
From everyman in my soul
With judgmental righteousness
That accuses me,
Tries me and finds me guilty.
It’s the thief in me
Condemning another for his larceny.
It’s the pride of the boor
That has no tolerance.
It’s a terrible lack of love
That creates all my jealousies.
It’s the liar and the cheat in me
Giving me grounds for suspiciousness.
Dear Lord, forgive me
For what I am,
And for what I am not.
Help me to forgive myself,
For I cannot love one other person,
Nor find anyone acceptable
Until I have loved myself
Enough to find me acceptable.
