TOO MUCH HOLY HUDDLE
Football teams gather frequently in their huddles. Fine, we understand. But if they stay in the huddle, you would lose the game as well as their fans. They gather in the huddle, only to break from the huddle and try to move down the field and score–and eventually win the game. That’s the point–the purpose. Football teams need their huddles. But can’t afford to stay there. So it is with the church. We need to huddle. But we can’t stay there. That’s not the point of the church. There are lost people all around us. We need to eventually break from our huddles and move out to win people. We are to gather for spiritual encouragement, instruction, fellowship. We then must break from our huddle and infiltrate our society. We must make an impact for Jesus Christ. Adapted from a submission by Dicky Love, Christ Community Church, Ruston, Louisiana
