PREACHING THAT WILL DO
A student at a Bible school was asked to preach at chapel services. He was very nervous. When he finished, he asked one of his professors for his comments on the job he had done. The instructor sat silently for some time, and finally the student anxiously asked, “My sermon will do, won’t it?” The professor replied, “It will do what?” Sermons must say something, but they must also DO something! A good message should “comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.”
