CENTIPEDE TIME
A football game on Noah’s Ark. It was the team with the rhinoceros that were 24-0 at the end of the first half. The losing team was justifiably demoralized, but as second-half action got underway, things changed dramatically. On an offensive play, the rhino ran with the ball but was blipped on his horn and fumbled. As the pileup unstacked, the last player up was a centipede. “Did you make that tackle?” an incredulous teammate asked. “Yeah, I’m the one,” answered the innocent-looking defender. “Well, where were you in the first half?” demanded a questioner. “I was in the locker room putting on my shoes,” the centipede replied. The point of the joke — some people spend their lives putting on their shoes when they should be in the middle of the action.
