ON A SCALE OF ONE TO A MILLION
I asked the kids the other day, “on a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you think that Aunt Dede loves you”? The youngest girl smiled and said, “oh Dede, maybe 10”. No honey, 100! On that note we hug, I get a chocolate kiss on the collar of my white blouse, but who cares? A six year old’s chocolate kisses are worth far more than a $10.95 blouse any day. The blouse will be a dust rag in two years, but the love of children has changed my world. These moments of imprinted memories are the fabric of my life. I think of Abraham when God said to him, “go ahead, count the stars if you can”. God was saying to Abraham, his kid, “how much do you think your daddy loves you”. Well, I don’t know Lord. Well, a million times a million times a million. Now what kid can count that…
