Have you ever noticed the times in which a four-year- old’s voice is louder than a hundred adult voices? Several years ago, a man returned home from a trip just when a storm hit with crashing thunder and severe lightning. As he entered the bedroom at about 2 AM, he found his two children in bed with his wife, apparently scared by the loud storm. He reluctantly resigned himself to sleeping in the guest room. The next day, he spoke to his children and explained that it was okay to sleep with Mom when the storm was bad, but when he was expected home, he did not want them to sleep with Mom on those evenings. They said that was okay. After his next trip a few weeks later, his wife and children picked him up at the airport terminal, but since the plane was late, a crowd of people came to the gate to wait for the plane’s arrival.
