THE DIFFERENCE LOVE MAKES
Fred Craddock tells of a time he and his family were out for a relaxing Sunday afternoon drive. Suddenly the kids start beating him on the back and yelling, “Daddy, Daddy, stop the car… There’s a kitten on the side of the road.” Dad doesn’t want to, but after Mom joins the chorus, he stops and gets out to go after the cat. As he approaches it, the cat is just skin and bones, sores and fleas, but when he reaches down to pick it up, with it’s last bit of energy the kitten bristles, baring tooth and claw. Fred picked it up anyway, by the skin of the neck and when he got to the car with it he told the kids, “Don’t touch it, it’s probably got leprosy.” The kids of course don’t listen to Dad about that any better than anything else, and take that cat home and treat it like a king. It sleeps in bed…
