THE CHRISTIAN MISSION
It is extremely fortunate for the Christian Cause that it is not necessary to try and get its missionaries into the world, since that is where they already are. Christ’s ambassadors are already in the Teamsters Union and in the House of Representatives and on the automobile production line. The placing of potential Christian missionaries is so fortunate that it is almost fantastic. If the church were limited to a shrinking number of professionals, there might be reason for discouragement, but there is immense hope in the scattering of committed Christians as they pursue their secular occupations. The practical task is to make them see the potential of their vocation and to try to help them to be prepared to fulfill it. By Elton Trueblood, The Validity of the Christian Mission, published by Harper and Row, 1972, p. 71
