GOVERNMENT PAY SCALE EXPLAINED
Here is yet another sample of government mumbo-jumbo: “At the end of two years, the employee will be placed in a lower grade. The employee’s pay will be set at the employer’s allowable former rate of basic pay or at 150 percent of the highest rate of the grade in which the employee is placed. Following that, the employee will receive 50 percent of any annual comparability increase until the maximum rate for the new grade equals or exceeds the adjusted rate.” From a Department of Energy publication as quoted in The Peter Pyramid
