She came down with cancer and gradually grew weaker and weaker. Finally, he was asked to go to her hospital bed and give her communion perhaps for the last time in her life. As he struggled to insert the tiniest piece of bread and the smallest drop of wine through the lips of the comatose figure lying there, she could not even manage that.He sat back in the chair provided by the hospital for visitors, feeling angry, bitter and frustrated.
