QUARRELS DWELL WITH SATAN
The Talmud records a story about two people who “shared their dwelling with Satan” because every Friday night they would fight. Rabbi Meir was once invited to the area and spent three Friday nights with the antagonists, eventually making peace with them. When he left the house, he heard someone crying: “Woe is me! Rabbi Meir chased me from my house!” This passage identifies Satan the one who is as common as the nearest quarrel. If we want to exorcise Satan, we don’t need incantations, black candles and sofars blasting in the night. All we need to do is replace brotherly hatred with brotherly love.
