THE CATTLE ARE BELCHING POLLUTANTS
University researchers will strap gas-measuring gear to hundreds of cows to find out how bovine bleching might be contributing to the greenhouse effect. Washington State University researchers Brian Lamb, Kris Johnson and Hal Westberg will get $70,000 a year for three years from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to determine how much methane cows and other cud- chewing animals produce when they belch. As ridiculous as the idea sounds, it’s a serious problem, the researchers say. Well, I’m sure they would agree because it pays them grant money. When you lay such a project beside the Great Commission as spoken by Jesus Christ, it makes you wonder what really is important. From Associated Press, December, 1990
