DEAD CHURCH IN A COFFIN
A pastor had labored faithfully in his church for many years with very little to show for his labors. After careful soul- searching, the pastor came to the painful conclusion that his church was dead. The discouraged and weary man went to his office and considered his plight and that of the church. He concluded that if the church was indeed dead, it should be given a proper funeral. The next Sunday he announced to his bewildered congregation that he would hold a funeral service for the dead church and would appreciate it if the people would show up to pay their last respects. The following Sunday, the people were surprised to see an open coffin at the front of the church. The pastor entered to the solemn music of the organ.
