STAY WITH IT
Earl Nightengale writes that the key to many people’s success, including his own, is this simple three word formula — “Stay with it.” Persistence pays off in success. He writes: We read about people who sail around the world in a 30-foot sailboat or overcome handicaps to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games, and we later find they’re stories about persistence. I remember well the day I sat down to write the first of my radio programs. That was 20 years ago. That was 5,200 programs ago. With about 700 words to a program, that’s 3.64 million words ago. Or the equivalent of 36 full-length books. Certainly no world’s record — I can recall that my friend Lowell Thomas’s study was completely lined with the bound copies of his broadcasts — but a good example of what persistence can do all the same.
