KEEP THE FAITH
William Stammer from Baltimore, hid his $1200.00 savings in an old pair of shoes. It was safe from burglars, but not from himself. Without thinking, he threw the shoes in the trash and didn’t realize his error until after the sanitation workers carted them away. But, after a frantic two-hour search through the contents of a city trash truck the retired schoolteacher located both shoes and recovered all of his money. It doesn’t take much to lose our faith or to lose the spark of our faith. One little incident can cause us to wander off and get lost just like the sheep in the parable of the lost sheep. Sometimes we do it willfully like the younger brother in the parable of the prodigal son. But however it happens, we wind up lost and alone.
