A MUGGER’S MATCH
It was recently reported that a young woman from abroad was accosted by a mugger while visiting New York. As the mugger grabbed the visitor’s gold chain, he pushed her. She grabbed him to steady herself. During this somewhat convoluted movement, she inadvertently pulled off the gold chain he was wearing. The mugger ran off, unaware of his own loss. The next day, after consulting a jeweler, the visitor discovered she now owned an 18-karat gold chain. Hers was costume jewelry. There seems to be some kind of divine recompense at work here… From the New York Times
