UNSEEN FRIEND
Thornapple, the Born Loser, is sitting at the counter in a diner eating a sandwich and minding his own business. A guy two seats over leans over and says, “Warren doesn’t like you, fella.” Thornapple says, “Who?” Pointing to the empty seat between them, the stranger says, “Warren Beemish here, my invisible friend.” Thornapple says, “You’re looney tunes, buddy. And Warren is a figment of your…” The final scene shows the stranger sitting there with a smug look on his face while a cup of coffee is being poured over Thornapple’s head by an invisible someone. Someone once said some things have to be believed to be seen.
