END OF NIRVANA
Kurt Cobain, the twenty-seven-year-old lead singer of the grunge rock group Nirvana, shot himself in the head with a shotgun. He was reportedly despondent over domestic problems and substance abuse. One of his many fans was interviewed by ABC Nightly News on Friday, April 8, 1994: The fan showed his lack of understanding of the human condition when he said, “When you reach that level of fame and still are not happy, something must be wrong.” Another fan, interviewed by Entertainment Tonight on April 8, 1994 said, “Magic has died — just think about it!” It was also reported that Cobain wanted to name his next album “I Hate Myself and I Want to Die!” This king of grunge rock music had learned to sing and had risen to the top of the charts, but he had never learned to live life and deal with the adversity and suffering inherent in this world.
