EXTRA REASONS TO PRACTICE
Damian Fedoryka, president of Christendom College in Front Royal, Virgina, and his wife Irene are raising their ten children in an eighteenth century farmhouse in the Blue Ridge Mountains. They feel that God and the family unit should be the most influential factors in their children’s lives. They also believe that music helps bind a family together. So they have trained three as pianists, two as cellists, and five as violinists! The Fedoryka family has a repertoire of nearly 200 pieces. They’ve performed in concerts at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Wolf Trap summer concert center, and numerous festivals. Irene, who studied at Juilliard in New York City, has arranged for all their instruction. Damian, who doesn’t play an instrument himself is the children’s biggest fan.
