TRULY AMAZING GRACE
A couple of months ago I was talking with Dr. Barry Bailey pastor of First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Dr. Bailey was asked to hold the funeral for rock guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughn after his tragic death. Part of the tragedy was that Stevie Ray Vaughn had really just started to live. His life had been a shambles of drug and alcohol abuse but he had been clean and sober for the last couple of years. His career was on the rise again and he had just finished an album with his brother. I was kidding Barry, who is white haired and several years my senior, about not even knowing who this rock star was or ever having listened to his music.
