THE POWER OF AFFIRMATION
A young man in California wanted to be a singer. He was married and having a tough time of it. He worked hard trying to further his musical career but couldn’t make a living at it. Occasionally he would pick up a few dollars singing at weddings and funerals. Meanwhile the bills kept coming in. Rent was high in the city so he was forced to move to a shack in the country — smack in the middle of a vineyard. Even though the rent was only $12.50 he fell months behind. He was forced to spend long hours picking grapes to try to pay back the rent. Often grapes were the only thing he had to eat. Finally he told his wife that this was too tough.
