DAUGHTER’S HEART SAVES FATHER
Fifty-eight-year-old Chester Szuber of Berkley, Michigan had waited for four years for a new heart. He had suffered through three open-heart surgeries. Without a new heart, his life would soon be over. Tragically, while he was waiting for a new heart, his twenty-two-year-old daughter, the youngest of six children, was involved in a serious car wreck. After four excruciating days in intensive care, Patti’s brain stopped functioning. The family was presented with a momentous decision. It was a far more ambitious, more wonderful resolution to this tragedy than they had ever imagined. Before her fatal car accident, Patti had signed an organ donor card indicating her willingness to donate her organs should she die an untimely death.
